The Erasmus+ MSc Scholarship Programme provides a full scholarship that is available to students with a very good academic track record, and who are applying for the Erasmus+ GEM Master’s degree programme Geo-information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management.
There are four tracks to choose from, which integrate academic excellence from the four universities in geospatial science applied to societal challenges for a sustainable world:
- Track 1 – GEM for Urban-Rural Interactions
- Track 2 – GEM for Land Use Systems
- Track 3 – GEM for Ecosystems & Natural Resources
- Track 4 – GEM4 Food Security

Full coverage for both students from Programme and Partner Countries.
Travel and installation costs
- Students from Partner Countries who reside <4000 KM** away from Coordinating HEI in Enschede, the Netherlands
- EUR 1000 to be paid only once (not annually) when the student arrives at the first HEI. This is an incentive to help students with visa costs, temporary accommodations and any additional expenses
- Travel allocation of EUR 2000 per year
- Students from Partner Countries who reside > 4000KM** away from Coordinating HEI in Enschede, The Netherlands
- EUR 1000 to be paid only once (not annually) when the student arrives at the first HEI. This is an incentive to help students with visa costs, temporary accommodation and any additional expenses
- Travel allocation of EUR 3000 per year
Subsistence costs
EUR 1000 per month for maximum 24 months. The subsistence will not be disbursed when the student studies in his/her country of residence.
When a student studies in another partner country for more than 3 months then the monthly subsistence will be stopped until the student is back to the programme country.

Application requirements
The Erasmus+ GEM MSc Scholarship Programme is available for excellent students applying for the ITC Master’s degree programme “Geo-information Science and Earth Observation for Environmental Modelling and Management.”
Additional Requirements
- Upper second class (2.1) BSc honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognised university in a discipline related to the course, preferably combined with work experience in a relevant field.
- English: IELTS 6.5
- Relevant background for the intended field of study
- Not eligible for support under the Dutch system of study grants and loans.
- Not having benefited from any other (previous) Erasmus Mundus scholarship

FURTHER PROCESS
After receipt of your application, the additional information will be reviewed. ITC will acknowledge receipt of your application. If it is evident that you do not fulfil the minimum requirements for the Erasmus+ GEM MSc Scholarship Programme, you will be notified immediately.
After the dates of the deadline, a committee will make the final selection. The selection results will be announced before the 1st of May. The candidates who will be offered a scholarship will be asked to confirm they accept the scholarship.
