Chuck Silverman Memorial Drum Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Chuck Silverman Memorial Drum Scholarship was created to honor the memory, exceptional talent and artistic career of longtime MI Drum Program faculty member Chuck Silverman, and is provided to support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Drum Program student who demonstrates outstanding musicianship in the Latin, Brazilian and/or Afro-Carribean genres.

AWARD

  • The total scholarship award will be $1,000 credited toward the first quarter of the program.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
  • May only be applied to the AA (Drum) Program.
  • Current/returning students in any MI program are not eligible.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Scholarship applicants must have submitted the Application for Admissions by the scholarship application deadline and must be entering the program for the first time.
  • Scholarship is credited toward the first quarter of the program. Scholarships are nontransferable, and may not be applied to any person, program or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST

  1. YouTube video URL: Video must contain at a minimum: you performing three (3) songs in the Latin, Brazilian and/or Afro-Carribean genres on the drum set. It is required that this include two (2) live ensemble (band or duo) performances, and one (1) drum solo performance. No playalong or pre-recorded tracks will be accepted.
