Paul Reed Smith Guitar Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Paul Reed Smith (PRS) Guitar Scholarship was created to honor and exemplify innovative guitar legend Paul Reed Smith and will be awarded to an intermediate or advanced student who demonstrates (and embodies) innovation, experimentation and a high degree of sophistication on the instrument in any style or genre.

Award

  • The total scholarship amount will be $1,500 credited towards the first quarter’s tuition.

Eligibility

  • Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
  • May only be applied to the Associate of Arts in Performance (Guitar) Program.
  • Certificate and MI Select programs are not eligible.

Requirements

  • Scholarship applicants must have submitted the Application for Admissions by the scholarship application deadline and must be entering the program for the first time.
  • Scholarships are nontransferable, and may not be applied to any person, program or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.
  • Current/returning students in any MI program are not eligible.

Application Checklist

  • Video must contain at a minimum: three (3) diverse songs (in any style on your instrument).
  • It is required that this include two (2) live ensemble (band or duo) performances, and one (1) solo guitar piece.
  • You may use electric and/or acoustic guitars.
  • You must be able to demonstrate innovation, experimentation and a high degree of sophistication on the instrument.
