Time-delay feedback methods and their application in power electronic systems

Applications are invited for a three year postgraduate studentship, supported by the School of Engineering and Applied Science, to be undertaken within the Non-linearity and Complexity Research Group http://www.aston.ac.uk/ncrgat Aston University. The successful applicant will join an established theoretical group working on complex systems.

Financial Support
This studentship includes a fee bursary to cover the home/EU fees rate plus a maintenance allowance of £14,057 in 2015/16. Applicants from outside the EU may apply for this studentship but will need to pay the difference between the ‘Home/EU’ and the ‘Overseas’ tuition fees, currently this is £11,448. As part of the application you will be required to confirm that you have applied for, or, secured this additional funding, and confirmation that this funding support is in place will be required as part of the application process.

Postgraduate Taught Masters International Scholarships, Aston University, UK

The International Office is pleased to announce two £4,000 scholarships are available for successful applicants entering one of the specified postgraduate taught Masters programmes listed below. Scholarships will take the form of a £4,000 reduction in tuition fees.

To be considered for the scholarship:

  • Applicants must be deemed self-financing non-EU full overseas fee payers.
  • Applicants must hold a conditional or unconditional offer for one of the specified postgraduate taught Masters programmes listed below commencing at Aston University October 2012.
  • Applicants must submit an application in the form of a 500 word essay outlining why they would benefit from the scholarship and the difference it would make to them as well as why they would be a suitable person to work with the International Office to share their experiences at the University and help promote Aston to future students.
  • The successful scholars will be required to sign an agreement with the Aston University International Office to share their experiences of application, arrival, studying at Aston, lecturers and lectures, and student life. They will work with the International Office to provide information which can be used for promotional purposes, as well as regularly update a blog, which has to be created from the beginning of an academic year at Aston. The work will be used across the University including the School of study and the Development & Alumni Relations Office.

PhD Studentships, School of Life and Health Sciences, Aston University, UK

PhD Studentships for international overseas students with bursaries available against fees. Projects are available in research groups allied to Biomedical Sciences, Biology, Pharmacy, Optometry and Psychology.

Applications are invited for three year Research Studentships to be undertaken in the School of Life and Health Sciences at Aston University to start in July or October 2010.

The School of Life and Health Sciences is equipped with state-of-the- art facilities to pursue cutting-edge research. In the 2008 RAE, 85% of the research in the School of Life and Health Sciences was ranked as being of international quality, and the School was ranked 3rd out of 61 UK University submissions to Allied Health Professions and Studies for quality and volume of research. The School currently has a research income of about £8m, with approximately 75 research students, (part time and full-time), who are registered in the School each year.
