ADA University, AzerbaijanThis fellowship is open to all international undergraduate and graduate applicants who have been admitted to one of ADA University’s degree-granting schools and are renewable for the duration of studies when certain criteria are met upon availability of funds.

Alimardan Bay Topchubashov Fellowship covers the tuition fee and rent of housing only. Fellowship recipients are expected to cover all other expenses, including books, student fees and utilities.

Khazar University International Scholarship Program, Azerbaijan

Khazar University is the first private University in the South Caucasus that started implementing international education programs with English language as a medium of instruction. Pursuant to its policy and service commitments, the University is proud to announce the Khazar University International Scholarship Program for 2018-2019 (further referred to as KUISP) extended to nationals of all countries without any limitation.

General Principles
The guiding principles of the program are as follows:

  • All foreign citizens are eligible for KUISP.
  • KUISP is available for potential students at all schools of the University: School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, School of Economics and Management, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Education.
  • Applicants to bachelor, master and PhD programs are eligible to apply for KUISP.
  • Every year two scholarships, each covering the cost of the full tuition fee, will be awarded to citizens of each country who apply to Khazar University programs.
  • The scholarship is provided for one year subject to prolongation based on the academic performance of the grantee.
  • The scholarship covers the cost of the tuition fee for one academic year, but does not cover living, travel or other expenses.
  • Khazar University conducts evaluation and the selection of submitted applications via document screening and Skype interviews with shortlisted applicants. The details and the time frame of the selection are specified in the KUISP time schedule.

You must make an application to the University through UCAS by 15 October 2013 and be successful in gaining a place. You will then need to complete a separate scholarship application form and arrange for two references to be submitted on your behalf.

Postgraduate Scholarships, Open Society Foundations / University of Nottingham, UK

The Open Society Foundations / University of Nottingham scholarships aim to provide opportunities for independent postgraduate study in the United Kingdom for students who have demonstrated both academic excellence and the potential to become leaders, decision makers, and opinion formers in their own country. Upon completion of their studies in the UK, scholars are expected to return to their home country to resume their studies or work there. Subject to satisfactory progress, the scholarships lead to the award of a master’s degree.

The scholarships are available for study for:

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Fellowship for International Students

At ADA, we are motivated by a need to establish an outstanding education and training for our own citizens in Azerbaijan, but we know that our growing nation also has a responsibility to bring first-class international education and leadership training for others in the region and the world, and to promote intellectual inquiry on many topics.

Hence, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy has launched Heydar Aliyev Fellowship. Named after Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s national leader and visionary statesman, the fellowship is meant to prepare global leaders with strong commitment to serve public cause.

The purpose of the fellowship is to:

  • prepare innovative leaders with vision and global perspective
  • encourage commitment to public service and further contribute to its development
  • actively participate in international human capacity enhancement efforts
  • enhance diversity of student body at ADA
  • promote further intellectual inquiry on international topics
  • help to strengthen bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and friendly countries.

The Heydar Aliyev Fellowship is granted to international students to study at ADA’s Master and Bachelor Programs.

Scholarships for the Public International Law and Human Rights programme (LL.M)(2011/2012)

The Riga Graduate School of Law announces Scholarships for an LL.M degree in Public International Law and Human Rights funded by the Open Society Institute (OSI). Eligible students currently are invited to apply for the Riga Graduate School of Law (RGSL) Public International Law and Human Rights Programme. The programme provides expertise in Public International Law and Human Rights and also offers courses in European Law. The programme is competitive and very prestigious. The Programme is based at the RGSL located in Riga, Latvia. It is available to individuals with bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or related fields (or will be awarded a degree prior to admission to the programme), obtained in at least four years long studies, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired; second level professional higher education, professional bachelor’s or master’s degree in law or other related fields, if basic knowledge in law and corresponding work experience is acquired. The 2011/2012 Programme starts in September 2011.

The purpose of these scholarships is to support students who have demonstrated academic excellence in law or a comparable field of study and have a demonstrated commitment to work in the field of public law, human rights, or public service.

Overview
Scholarships are available to students from Russia, Byelorussia, Ukraine and South Eastern Europe and Central Eurasia regions (see eligible countries below). Each scholarship recipient will receive an amount covering tuition and fees for the LL.M study programme. An additional scholarship is allocated for travel, accommodation and incidental education expenses. Students granted a scholarship must write their master’s thesis in the field of public international law or human rights. Priority will be given to students who commit to work in any of the following areas upon completion of the programme: human rights, public law and public service. Furthermore, RGSL seeks to recruit students who have worked within an organization with which OSI has a relationship already, or students who are willing to work with such an organization upon completion of the programme. In the application, students are required to provide specific detail on their expectations work in a related field upon completion of the programme.

As from 1994 the Government of the Republic of Cyprus has launched the Technical and Development Assistance Scheme, within the framework of which the Cyprus Government provides each year a number of scholarships of short and long duration for participation in educational courses organized by Academic Institutions in Cyprus, as part of its Official Development Assistance (ODA) strategy. All the scholarships are provided officially on a bilateral basis (from Government to Government) and are announced through the diplomatic channels.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Islamic Studies, Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Oxford, UK

The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarships (OCISS)
Launched in 2009, the OCIS – Oxford Scholarships support British Muslim students as well as those from developing countries in Asia and Africa to read for degrees at the University of Oxford. Under the programme, up to five scholarships each year are available for undergraduate students from Muslim communities in Britain. A further five scholarships are available for postgraduate students, at least two of whom will be UK students from Muslim communities, while the rest will be students from specified countries in Asia or Africa. The scholarships are available to students undertaking study in a range of fields relevant to the needs of Muslim societies.

Postgraduate Scholarships
Applications for OCIS – Oxford Postgraduate Scholarships for the academic year 2010-2011 are invited through the University`s normal admissions procedures. The scholarships cover University and college fees and a grant for living costs. An application for a scholarship is made at the time of completion of the Graduate Application Form.
