Korean government invites 81 international students from 67 countries who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Korea. To be selected as a GKS grantee, any applicant should successfully pass through the 1st selection process set by the Korean Embassy of his or her country of origin.

[University Track]
Korean government invites 104 international students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree and also 15 international students who wish to pursue an associate degree in Korea. To be selected as a GKS grantee, any applicant should successfully pass through the 1st selection process set by the designated regional universities.

ASEAN Leaders Fostering Program, Daejeon University, Korea

ASEAN Leaders Fostering Program, previously named as ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Programme, is an ASEAN-Korea Cooperation Project between the ASEAN University Network (AUN) and Daejeon University (DJU). The project is jointly funded by the ASEAN-ROK Future Oriented Cooperation Programs Funds and Daejeon University.

The Programme offers exchange scholarships for 20 undergraduate students from ASEAN student to study at Daejeon University, the Republic of Korea (ROK). The scholarship includes tuition fees, room and board, round-trip ticket, basic medical insurance and living allowance (USD 300 per month) for one academic year.

Daejeon University has specialized curriculum and ample experience with ASEAN student, so DJU is the only university which has launched the ASEAN – ROK International College Student Exchange Program since 2002. DJU provides ASEAN students with the opportunity to become leading role models in the future by taking the advanced level classed, while using our fully technologically equipped facilities for one academic year.

Also, our program is dedicated in cultivating students to become leaders of ASEAN Nations, especially through our internship program at internationally well known organizations in Korea such as UN-APCICT, IFEZ, KNCU, KIEP and ASEAN-Korea Centre We have witnessed our students contribute to diplomatic relations between ASEAN and ROK.

ASEAN University Network (AUN)
The ASEAN University Network was established in November 1995 under the Charter signed by the Ministers responsible for higher education in ASEAN countries. The AUN is perceived as a mechanism to help hasten solidarity and development of regional identity through the promotion of the existing network of leading universities and higher education institutions in ASEAN region. Currently, the AUN is actively involved in collaborative projects with the following partners; P.R. China, the European Union, United States, Japan, and the Republic of Korea. The International College Student Exchange Program between ROK and ASEAN Nations is one of the collaborative projects with ROK.

Campus Guide
Residence halls in Daejeon University are comprised of the 1st Residence Hall, the 2nd Residence Hall, International Residence Hall and the 4th Residence Hall and they are recognized as one of the most beautiful and elegant buildings in Korea and internal functions are also considered meticulously so that they can be linked each other organically. They have several types of rooms such as a room accommodating 4 students, 2 students and 1 student, and they can accommodate total 1,340 persons. The convenient facilities include a laundry room, an ironing room, a lounge, a fitness center, a space for table tennis, a computer lab, a cafeteria and a snack bar.

GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) for Master Students, Daejeon University, Korea

Daejeon University KoreaDaejeon University in South Korea is looking for bright Graduate students interested in learning Korean and pursuing their higher education in South Korea. This is scholarship program running by Korean government.

The deadline for application is 18th March. Below are some of the details covered in the Scholarship.

Qualification

  1. Foreigners whose parents are both foreigners
    • Dual Citizen is not accepted
  2. Students who have good both Physical and Mental Health
    • Must pass the Physical Examination (The prescript form provided)
  3. Under age of 40 by 1 Sep, 2013 (Born after 1 Sep 1973)
  4. By 31 Aug, 2013, Student must have Bachelor??s degree.
    • Disaccreditation when student does not earn the degree by 31 Aug, 2013
    • No student who was in Korean University or graduate Korean University in the past
  5. A minimum of 3.0/4.0 GPA, 80% out of 100% percentage, or equivalent grade
    • If it is hard to submit GPA or Percentage transcript, submit certificate of rank(within 20% of top rank)
  6. Optional: Test of proficiency in Korean (TOPIK , KLPT) or in English (TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS)

ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Scholarships, Daejeon University, Korea

ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Program 2011

The ASEAN University Network (AUN) in collaboration with Daejeon University (DJU) and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Korea are now ready to launch the ASEAN Millennium Leaders College Student Exchange Program between the Republic of Korea and ASEAN Nations 2011

Scholarship Information
Full Scholarships covering tuition fee, room and board, roundtrip ticket, and living allowance, will be offered to 30 students from ASEAN Nations who interested to study in the fields of Social Science and ICT at Daejeon University for the year 2011-2012. The program is developed for international exchange students and classes will be taught in English.

Students will be given a chance to attend a 2-month internship programme at the leading organizations in Korea, namely United Nations-Asian and Pacific Training Centre for Information and Communication Technology for Development (UN APCICT), Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Korea-ASEAN Center, Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS), Korea Nuclear International Cooperation Foundation (KONICOF), Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, etc.

Admission Requirement

  • Applicant must be a citizen of ASEAN nations and currently enrolled in College or University.
  • Undergraduate students majoring in Information Technology (e.g. Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electrics Engineering, Communications Engineering or IT related major) or,
  • Undergraduate students majoring in Social Science Studies (e.g. Economics, Business, Public Administration, Political Science, International Studies) and Korean Studies
  • Applicant must has an excellent academic record (Should be in the top 10% of their classes)
  • Applicant must have a good command of written and spoken English.
  • Applicant must have a good medical record.
