The Schecter Michael Anthony Bass Scholarship (sponsored by Schecter Guitars) was created to directly encourage and support the educational growth of bass program students at Musicians Institute at the AA or B.M. level.

The scholarship will be awarded in Spring 2023 to an intermediate or advanced student (U.S. or non-U.S. citizens who are newly enrolling or currently enrolled) in the Associate of Arts or Bachelor of Music in Performance (Bass) program who demonstrates overall outstanding musicianship, technique and passion for the instrument in the Rock genre.

AWARD
Award is $5,000.00 tuition credit applied to the first two quarters (or next contiguous quarters for current students) of the program ($2,500 per quarter)

Hosa Technology Audio Engineering Program Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Hosa Technology Audio Engineering Program Scholarship is provided to encourage and support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Audio Engineering Program student. The scholarship will be awarded to a new student enrolling in the MI Audio Engineering Program who clearly articulates their career goals in the music industry, as well as why they should be considered for the scholarship in a 500 word written essay.

AWARD

The total scholarship award will be $1,000 credited toward the first quarter of the program.

ELIGIBILITY

Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
May only be applied to the Audio Engineering Program.
Current/returning students in any MI program are not eligible.

Melodic Soloing Guitar Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Melodic Soloing Scholarship was created to recognize and support the creative skills, talent, tone and taste required to play improvised melodic guitar solos in any style. The scholarship is generously funded by an MI Guitar Program alumnus (GIT class of 1980) and is provided to encourage and support the educational growth of an AA or B.M. or M.M. Performance (Guitar) program student.

The scholarship will be awarded twice annually to newly enrolling and current/returning guitar students who demonstrate outstanding musicianship, and expresses their own unique melodic voice as a soloist on the instrument in any musical style.

AWARD

Award is $5,000.00 tuition credit applied to the first two quarters (or next contiguous quarter for current students) of the program ($2,500 per quarter)

Greg Priest Memorial Drum Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Greg Priest Memorial Drum Scholarship was created to honor the life and career of MI alumnus Greg Priest and to directly encourage and support the educational growth of students who demonstrate overall outstanding musicianship, and the ability to excel in any style or genre on their instrument enrolling in the AA (Drum) or Bachelor of Music in Performance Studies Program (Drum) at Musicians Institute.

AWARD

Award is $1,666.00 tuition credit to be applied to the first quarter of the program.

ELIGIBILITY

Available to international students and U.S. citizens.
May only be applied to the Associate of Arts in Performance (AA Drum) Program and
Bachelor of Music in Performance Studies (Drum)
Newly enrolling, and current/returning students are eligible.

REQUIREMENTS

Scholarship applicants must have submitted the Application for Admissions , as a new student to MI entering the program for the first time by the scholarship application deadline or must be a currently enrolled Drum Program student.
Scholarships are nontransferable, and may not be applied to any person, program or start date other than the one for which it was awarded.

APPLICATION CHECKLIST

YouTube video URL: Video must contain at a minimum: three (3) stylistically diverse songs on the drum set. It is required that this include two (2) ensemble (live band or duo, and/or pre-recorded play-along tracks format) performances; and one (1) unaccompanied drum solo performance (No play-along tracks will be accepted for the solo piece).

The Joe Bonamassa Blues Guitar Scholarship (sponsored by the Keeping The Blues Alive Foundation) was created in honor of legendary Blues guitarist Joe Bonamassa to directly encourage and support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Blues guitar student at MI.

The scholarship will be awarded to an intermediate or advanced student (U.S. or non-U.S. citizens) in the AA or B.M. or M.M. in Performance (Guitar) program who demonstrates overall outstanding musicianship, passion for the instrument and the potential for developing their own individual sound or unique voice on the instrument in the Blues genre.

AWARD

Award is $1,600 tuition credit to be applied to the first quarter of the program.
