Singapore International Airlines (SIA) Youth Scholarship

The SIA Youth Scholarship is tenable for 2 years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ (GCE ‘A’) Level (or equivalent) certificate. Students who perform well in the GCE ‘A’ Level (or equivalent) Examination may apply for the undergraduate scholarship offered by the National University of Singapore or the Nanyang Technological University. Please click on the links above for more details on undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships.

The Scholarship is for 2 years of Pre-University studies in selected Singapore Junior Colleges and is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.

Eligibility
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the scholarship:

Nationals of India
Born between 1992 and 1994
Completed Standard 10 in the Year 2010
Possess outstanding academic track record ( at least an average of 85% with English as first language in the Standard 10 State/National examinations

Candidates short-listed for the selection test/interview will be notified a week before the selection test/interview dates. We regret that only short-listed candidates will be notified.

The Singapore-MIT Alliance (SMA) for Research and Technology Graduate Fellowships 2010, Singapore

The Singapore Ministry of Education has established 100 four-year fellowships for new doctoral students at NTU or NUS who will conduct their research at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology Centre (SMART Centre).

The establishment of this Fellowship Programme is intended to attract to NTU and NUS the best and most talented doctoral students from Singapore, the region, and beyond and educate them to be future leaders in science and technology for Singapore and beyond. The Fellowship will provide them with the opportunity to be involved in the strategic research programmes at the SMART Centre and provide them with the opportunity to be co-advised by an MIT faculty member. The student may spend up to six months doing research at MIT.

The SMA Graduate Fellowship at SMART provides:

up to four years of full tuition fees at the student`s home university;
a monthly stipend of S$3,200;
a scholarly allowance of up to S$12,000 to help cover the expenses associated with a six month research residency at MIT;
and co-supervision by an MIT and NTU/NUS faculty.

A*STAR Pre-Graduate Scholarship, NUS Graduate School, Singapore

A*STAR Pre-Graduate Scholarship (PGS)

Students in Science, Computing and Engineering are invited to apply for A*STAR Pre-Graduate Scholarship.

TERMS
A stipend during the pursuit of the Bachelor’s degree programme amounting to:

$460 per month in Year 1 and Year 2
$560 per month in Year 3
$760 per month in Year 4; and
$760 per month in Year 5

for up to 12 months per academic year, or up to the date of graduation, whichever is earlier.

Tuition fee subsidy for the respective year(s) during the term of the Scholarship.

Candidates awarded must maintain good academic standing for the award to be renewed the following year.

All rates/allowances are subject to A*STAR adjustments from time to time.

PhD Research Scholarships, Asia Research Institute, National University of Singapore

The Asia Research Institute is pleased to offer Ph.D. research scholarships from August 2010 in the following interdisciplinary areas:

CULTURAL STUDIES IN ASIA
COLD WAR IN ASIA
SUMATRA HERITAGE, ARCHAEOLOGY AND RECONSTRUCTION

The PhD scholarship is to be taken up jointly with the appropriate discipline-based department. This would normally be with a department of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, but where appropriate could also be with the Faculty of Law, School of Business or School of Design & Environment at the National University of Singapore. Please note that some departments / Programmes only have one intake per year in August (Semester 1).

Interested applicants are required to submit their application by 15th November 2009, indicating clearly both which ARI interdisciplinary area they wish to join and which department they would be attached to.
