Doha Institute for Graduate Studies offers a wide variety of scholarships annually to attract academically qualified students from within and outside the State of Qatar.

Sanad Scholarship
These scholarship based on financial needs of students. It is dedicated to Qatari, Residents in Qatar and international students. Scholarship include covering a program’s fees (10 to 100 %). International students from outside Qatar will benefit from having their full tuition fees covered, in addition to free accommodation in institute dormitories, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and two travel tickets from and to home country upon arrival and after graduation.

How to Apply
All admitted students can apply for a scholarship through the scholarship application form. The Admissions Office sends the application form to all eligible students. Students are given the opportunity to submit the application with all official and required documents.

Talent Scholarship – Qatar University

Qatar University offers this scholarship to undergraduate non-Qatari students (including international students) who are talented in the fields of scientific research, technology and innovation, literature and art, media, and athleticism. Arabic for Non Native Speakers Scholarships – Qatar University

The Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center – Languages, Communication, and Translation Cluster, College of Arts and Sciences– is a specialized language center that offers certificates of completion to international students whose mother tongue is not Arabic.

Every year the center offers six language levels from Beginners I up to Advanced II. Applicants can be enrolled as full-fee paying students or nominees from educational or cultural institutions that have signed agreements with Qatar University.

Since its establishment, the Center has been a major platform for achieving the university’s goals in promoting the Arabic language, building strong academic, cultural, and research relations with various educational institutions, and improving cooperation with its regional and international partners. The ANNS Center has signed more than 30 agreements and MoUs with various international universities and annually enrolls a number of nominees from these universities on a scholarship basis.

Qatar University Scholarship, Qatar

Qatar University offers this scholarship to the admitted students in the university who apply directly to the university. The nominated students may receive these scholarships during the Fall semester and the Spring semester of the same academic year, though they are NOT allowed to transfer the scholarship to the next academic year. There are two types of these scholarships which are internal and external Scholarships.

Internal scholarships
This scholarship is offered by the University to applicants who are residents in the State of Qatar.

Benefits
This scholarship includes exemption only from tuition fees and book fees.

Qualifications

  • For the newly admitted applicants must get the final acceptance in the university (Not Provisional acceptance) with excellent high school grades. While for the current QU students must pass the foundation program.
  • The scholarship must be benefited from in the same semester of the year in which the scholarship was awarded (mainly, registering for and passing classes), otherwise, the scholarship will be canceled in that term and the student will be informed by QU email.

Application documents for Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship and Asia Special Scholarship.

Faculty of Science and Engineering, Waseda University offers International Graduate Program in English for foreign students. For September 2011 intake, we will allocate approximately 15 scholarships for Doctoral and Master`s candidates in total. Detailed eligibility is listed as follows:

  • Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 9 Doctoral and Master`s candidates entering in September 2011 (MEXT stands for Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology)
  • Asia Special Scholarship for 6 Doctoral and Master`s candidates entering in September 2011

Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship, Canada

Our program provides experience in a wide range of congenital and acquired orthopaedic conditions including spinal deformity, neuromuscular diseases, bone dysplasias, limb deficiencies, limb length discrepancy, major deformities, orthopaedic oncology, trauma and sports medicine.

The Hospital for Sick Children is a public, teaching hospital specializing in leading-edge paediatric care, education and research. The Division of Orthopaedic Surgery is one of the busiest departments in the hospital caring for chronic and acute conditions to the most complex patients with musculoskeletal disease. We believe that interdisciplinary care, collaborative research and valuable teaching we will give fellows the skills required to undertake the most important questions in children’s musculoskeletal disease.

Training Program
Our fellowship program is structured to meet the individual needs of the fellow. Five fellows are recruited each year (two in January and three in July.) Fellows will undertake rotations with several surgeons. A typical weekly schedule include two operating days, two clinic days and one research day. The training program ensures that fellows gain experience in all of the major areas of paediatric orthopedics. Our goal is for fellows to develop highly competent skills and sound clinical judgment to be an excellent academic paediatric orthopaedic surgeon.

The areas of responsibility include operating time, fracture treatment, outpatient clinics and inpatient wards. The fellow will participate in emergency call with responsibilities close to that of a staff surgeon, but with a staff surgeon and resident also on call. In addition, the fellow may also participate in clinics held in affiliated institutions dedicated to the care of children (e.g. Bloorview Kids Rehab, Erinoak Kids, etc.)

Postgraduate Scholarship in Islamic Studies, Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies, University of Oxford, UK

The Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies Scholarships (OCISS)
Launched in 2009, the OCIS – Oxford Scholarships support British Muslim students as well as those from developing countries in Asia and Africa to read for degrees at the University of Oxford. Under the programme, up to five scholarships each year are available for undergraduate students from Muslim communities in Britain. A further five scholarships are available for postgraduate students, at least two of whom will be UK students from Muslim communities, while the rest will be students from specified countries in Asia or Africa. The scholarships are available to students undertaking study in a range of fields relevant to the needs of Muslim societies.

Postgraduate Scholarships
Applications for OCIS – Oxford Postgraduate Scholarships for the academic year 2010-2011 are invited through the University`s normal admissions procedures. The scholarships cover University and college fees and a grant for living costs. An application for a scholarship is made at the time of completion of the Graduate Application Form.
