RMIT University Australia RMIT International Excellence Scholarship provides financial assistance to international students commencing an RMIT program in 2019

Value and duration
20% tuition fee reduction for the entire program duration.

Eligibility
In order to qualify for this scholarship you must:

  • have a minimum GPA of 70%, or equivalent in your last qualification completed
  • provide either a personal statement (approx. 300 words) or a 60-90 seconds video. Please introduce yourself, explain why you think you deserve the scholarship and tell us why you would be the perfect RMIT Ambassador
  • have a full offer and enrol in one of the following programs at RMIT, commencing in Semester 1 or Semester 2, 2019:

Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarship (VCPS), RMIT University, Australia

RMIT University AustraliaScholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and research potential to local and international candidates undertaking a research doctoral degree.

The Vice-Chancellor’s PhD Scholarships (VCPS) are funded by RMIT University.

Value and duration
The VCPS provides the following benefits to recipients:

  • a stipend of $42,384.50 per annum pro rata (full-time study) which represents a generous RMIT top up of approximately $15,000 above the RTP rate
  • a research support allowance of $5,000 per annum to support research activities
  • a HDR publication award of $10,000 (payable on thesis submission). Candidates must submit their thesis within three and a half years (or equivalent part-time) to be eligible for award
  • a relocation allowance for the cost of relocating in order to take up their postgraduate research program, up to $515 per adult and $255 per child to a maximum of $1,540
  • paid sick, maternity and parenting leave (within the limits of the Scholarship Terms and Conditions).

If you are a local candidate, you will also receive a government-funded Research Training Program (RTP) place or equivalent. An RTP place is supported with a HECS exemption for the standard duration of the course. Applicants successful in receiving an RTP place are not required to pay tuition fees for the maximum duration of their candidature.

PhD Scholarship in the School of Education, RMIT University, Australia

RMIT University AustraliaApplications are invited for a PhD research position embedded within the ARC Future Fellowship project “Transforming 21st Century Creativity Education in Australasia”, Chief Investigator Associate Professor Anne M Harris, within the School of Education at RMIT University. RMIT is a global university of technology, focused on creating solutions that transform the future for the benefit of people and their environment.

Value and duration:
The scholarship (stipend) is valued at $30,000 per annum for 3 years (2018-2020), and the outstanding PhD candidate will work with Associate Professor Anne M Harris on her ARC Future Fellowship project entitled:

Transforming 21st Century Creativity Education in Australasia

Project Description: The project will provide an account of changing creative industries and education practices, pedagogies, and modes of engagement for practitioners, teachers and industry professionals across Australasia. The project will investigate trends in creativity employing regional, inter-Asian and Australian perspectives, and methodological and theoretical approaches.

The PhD candidate will be supported with an RMIT scholarship and will be based at RMIT University city campus. We seek creative practitioners and/or educators with a passion to collaborate and extend their knowledge of intercultural creativity in the Asia Pacific region. Prior knowledge of creativity theory and practice, of the Asia Pacific region, intercultural communication, education and/or creativity is preferred.

To be assessed for eligibility for our research programs applicants must submit a formal application to RMIT School of Education (for a place in the PhD program DR209) through the School of Graduate Research by closing date of 31st October 2017. Information on the application process can be found at the links below. The PhD candidate should nominate Associate Professor Anne Harris as Senior Supervisor and Professor Peter Kelly as Second Supervisor for the project on the application form. The applicant should also submit a research proposal (of 1000 – 2000 words), briefly outlining related experience with creativity studies, theory and/or practice, as well as any regional, inter-Asian and Australian perspectives and networks. Examples of creative and written work (i.e. art folio) if appropriate may be included. The Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowships are open to researchers with an excellent track record who can make a significant contribution to RMIT’s research priority areas.

The fellowships are aligned with the RMIT strategic plan and our eight Enabling Capability Platforms. Successful applicants will be offered either a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship or a Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellowship, dependent on the applicant’s experience and achievements.

What’s included
Senior Research Fellowship awardees receive:

  • a Vice-Chancellor’s Senior Research Fellowship for four years
  • a commencing salary at Academic level C
  • $20,000 per annum research support funding for four years

To be suitable for an Academic Level C, Senior Research Fellowship, it is expected that you will have an excellent track record and international recognition for undertaking high-quality research in one of RMIT’s research priority areas. Value and duration

PhD Scholarship
The PhD scholarship top-up is valued at $10,000 per annum for three years, with a possible six month extension.

Masters by Research Scholarship
The Masters by Research scholarship top-up is valued at $10,000 per annum for two years.

Number of scholarships available
Two scholarships are available, one for a PhD student and one for a Masters by Research student.

Eligibility
The 2016 top-up scholarship is available to local or international students.

Required
Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • to have obtained a letter of offer for a Masters by Research or PhD degree at RMIT University in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering by the closing date of 31 December 2016. Please refer to the instructions on how to apply for postgraduate research OR already hold an offer letter from RMIT to do a Masters by Research or a PhD in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering

RMIT PhD International Scholarship (RPIS), RMIT University, Australia

RMIT University AustraliaScholarships are awarded to International students undertaking a research Doctoral degree on the basis of academic excellence and research potential.

RMIT PhD International Scholarships (RPIS) are funded by RMIT University.

Value and duration
The value of the RMIT PhD International Scholarships increase annually in accordance with indexation. In 2015, the RMIT PhD International Scholarship provided the following benefits:

  • tuition fees for the standard duration of your research scholarship
  • the cost of an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) policy for the standard duration of your program
  • a stipend of $28,849 per annum pro rata (full-time mode) which is equivalent to the Government APA rate of $25,849 plus an RMIT top up of $3000
  • a relocation allowance for the cost of relocating in order to take up your PhD program, up to $515 per adult and $255 per child to a maximum of $1540
  • paid sick, maternity and parental leave (within the limits of the Scholarship Guidelines).

The standard duration of a research doctorate scholarship is three years full-time. Candidates may apply for an extension of up to six months subject to satisfactory progress and school approval.

The duration of an RPIS will be reduced by any periods of study undertaken towards a research degree prior to the commencement of the RMIT PhD.

    • Three-year degree who has completed between 145 and 216 credit points
