The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia is pleased to announce that 2024 Global Korea Scholarship Program for Graduate Degree is now open for application.

The Korean government scholarship program will provide students from 146 countries with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea for Master’s and Doctoral-level degrees to promote international exchange in education and to deepen the mutual friendship among countries.

Students will be chosen from the Indonesia to complete the graduate program in prestigious Korean universities. The scholarship covers round trip airfare tickets, monthly stipend, tuition fees, settlement allowance, Scholarship Completion Grants, Korean language training expenses, and medical insurance.

International Graduate Scholarships, Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST)

Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology KAISTKAIST offers a simple but generous scholarship program to international students.

KAIST Scholarship supports tuition fees and provides stipends to 94 percent of the international students.

Subsidized by research participation, most of our students have found themselves financially independent from their homes.

Eligibility Requirement

  • Those who apply for graduate degree programs through the KAIST International Graduate Admission cycles
  • Those who meet the eligibility requirements of the application
    • All the KAIST graduate degree programs are supported by KAIST Scholarship, including cooperated scholarship programs, except for Global Technology Innovation Program (GDI-GTIP Track).

Visiting Scholar Program, Kyungpook National University, South Korea

To encourage collaboration between partner institutions and provide a special international education experience for KNU students. It is also hoped that visiting scholars will explore possible research links with their host department during their stay at KNU, and encourage further collaboration on student and faculty levels once they return to their own institution. We are offering KNU Visiting Scholar Program via remote instruction.

Subject Areas
Applicants can teach his/her own expertise and we will match it with a KNU existing course. Please refer to KNU Academic Programs- undergraduate to check if your expertise is offered at KNU

Teaching Commitment (remote instruction)
Each visiting scholar will be required to teach 1 three-credit course (45 hours of class contact) over a period of 3 weeks, which is scheduled as 3-hour classes, Monday through Friday (9-12am or 3-6pm). Mid-term and final exams are included within 3 weeks.

Tuition Assistance (All students)

Tuition fully supported: 3,415,000 won per semester. The one-time matriculation fee of 680,000 won is charged to all newly admitted students to be enrolled. Some students may be exempt from this fee.

Monthly Stipends (All International Students)

  • Student allowance: 140,000 won per month for M.S. students, 295,000 won per month for Ph.D. students
  • Meal allowance: nearly 100,000 won per month. Students should have completed at least 9 credits in the previous semester for the above two.
  • International student allowance: 120,000 won per month. GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.5) in the previous semester

Research Assistantship (All students participating in research projects)

  • 4,785,384 won per year of M.S.
  • 12,263,262 won per year of Ph.D

Global Korea Scholarship Program for Undergraduate Degree, South Korea

Study in KoreaGlobal Korea Scholarship is designed to provide international students with opportunities to study at higher educational institutions in Korea in pursuit of academic degrees, which will enhance international education exchange and deepen mutual friendship between Korea and participating countries.

[Embassy Track]
Korean government invites 81 international students from 67 countries who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Korea. To be selected as a GKS grantee, any applicant should successfully pass through the 1st selection process set by the Korean Embassy of his or her country of origin.

[University Track]
Korean government invites 104 international students who wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree and also 15 international students who wish to pursue an associate degree in Korea. To be selected as a GKS grantee, any applicant should successfully pass through the 1st selection process set by the designated regional universities.

Requirements for Scholarship Award

Global Leader Scholarship (Scholarship Type A)

  1. Cumulative GPA from the previous (latest) school of 4.0 or higher (out of 4.5), 3.83 or higher (out of 4.3), 3.57 or higher (out of 4.0), or 90 or higher (out of 100)
  2. TOEFL (iBT) 90 or higher (My Best Score accepted), New TEPS 386 or higher, Academic IELTS 7.0 or higher, or TOPIK level 6
  3. Recommended by the department and permission from the Dean of the KU Graduate School

All above three requirements must be satisfied for awarding of Scholarship A

Humanities and Social Sciences Scholarship (Scholarship Type B)

  1. Cumulative GPA from the previous (latest) school of 3.5 or higher (out of 4.5), 3.36 or higher (out of 4.3), 3.14 or higher (out of 4.0), or 85 or higher (out of 100)

Global KU Study Abroad Scholarship, Korea University, South Korea

In celebration of its centennial in 2005, KU established Global KU Study Abroad Scholarship. This scholarship aims to support future global leaders around the world to study at KU. Only students in Student Exchange Program(SEP) and Visiting Student Program(VSP) are eligible for Global KU Scholarship.

Types

  • Admission Scholarship: Max. KRW 400,000 per month for the first semester (4 months).
  • KU Travel Scholarship: Designed to help students meet basic travel costs, a one-off payment of up to a maximum of KRW1,500,000 according to distance and currency rate.
  • Merit Scholarship: Awarded on the basis of academic merit of the first semester at Korea University, KRW300,000 per month for a second semester (4 months). Only applicable to exchange/visiting students who participate in one-year program.

Conditions

  • Admission and KU Travel Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic merit at the applicants’ home institutions.
  • Faculty/ Institution/ National quotas may apply.
  • Students who extend the duration of their study at Korea University from one semester to two semesters are eligible to apply for ‘Merit Scholarship’ at the time of approval on extension.
  • Funding for the scholarships is subject to availability.
