Swinburne Tuition Scholarship, Swinburne University of Technology, Malaysia

Available for PhD and Master by Research students, the Swinburne Tuition Scholarship offers a full tuition fee bursary. For the current published rates please click here.

For PhD candidates it is awarded for 3 years, while for Master by Research it is offered for 1 year. In both cases the University reserves the right to lend an extension for a maximum period of 6 months.

Recipients of this scholarship will also gain teaching experience by assisting their supervisors for 2 hours every week during the semester period.

There will be four rounds of scholarships per year and the final closing date is 30 December 2017.

There will be a subsequent round in 2018.

The Swinburne Research Scholarship is merit based, and awarded to PhD and Master by Research candidates. It offers students a full tuition bursary with a monthly stipend of RM1,900.

Recipients of this scholarship will also gain teaching experience by assisting their supervisors for 4 hours every week during the semester period. They can also apply for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor’s Travel Award.

There will be four rounds of scholarships per year and the closing dates are:

MSc Scholarships in Global Innovation Management, Erasmus Mundus, Europe

The MSc. in Global Innovation Management is a unique 2-year programme offered jointly by the University of Strathclyde (Scotland), Aalborg University (Denmark), Hamburg University of Technology (Germany) and, Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) which enables graduates of first degrees in engineering, science and technology to successfully manage the innovation process across international boundaries.

Students have the opportunity to study at two European Universities, with a third option for EU students and self-funded non-EU students to study in Australia in year 2. The programme’s delivery over two years provides a greater depth of learning, more industrial engagement and a rich cultural experience.

Entry Requirements
Candidates admitted to the MSc will require to have:

A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, at second-class level or higher, in an engineering, science or technology subject
An appropriate level of competence in the English language, through attaining a minimum of IELTS 6.5 (minimum of 5.5 in any of the 4 test sections) or TOEFL 95 (minimum of listening 21, speaking 23, writing 21 and reading 22)

How to apply
Applications should be made to the administrating institution, the University of Strathclyde. A separate application to ERASMUS MUNDUS is NOT necessary.

Statistical Forecasting of Probabilistic Properties

Research topic:
Quality attributes such as performance, reliability, availability, safety, and security have a probabilistic nature, and are important for almost all software development projects and for projects related to automotive, avionic and medical systems in particular. However it is hard constructing a system that fulfils requirements regarding these quality attributes. Consequently, also quality control at the system runtime is required. Du to the probabilistic nature of these quality attributes this project aims to use statistical monitoring and forecasting techniques (e.g. time series analysis) as a novel quality control instrument for critical system components.
