Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA), American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, USA

Fulbright This non-degree program is for teachers of English or Indonesian-as-a-foreign language to teach Indonesian for one academic year at an American university. This is an opportunity to refine their teaching skills, increase their English language proficiency, and extend their knowledge of the cultures and customs of the United States. In turn, it is hoped that their teaching will strengthen the instruction of foreign languages at US colleges and universities. Participants will teach up to 20 hours per week and enroll in at least two American Studies and Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL) methodology classes per semester.

General Requirements
Applicants should:

  • Be Indonesian citizens and not permanent residents or citizens of the US, or be currently living in the US
  • Applicant must be residing in Indonesia throughout the nomination and selection process
  • Possess leadership qualities and show experience in community service
  • Have preparation in, and a demonstrated commitment to, their chosen field of study
  • Be proficient in English
  • Have an outstanding academic record
  • Demonstrate that they can realistically accomplish a professional program in the US
  • Not be employees or close family members or dependents of employees of AMINEF, or the US Embassy, or the US Department of State
  • Not be receiving another scholarship at the time of this scholarship application
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to return to Indonesia upon completion of the fellowship

International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP), American Indonesian Exchange Foundation, USA

FulbrightThe International Leaders in Education Program (ILEP) is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is implemented by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a Washington, DC based non-profit organization.

ILEP will consist of a semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and intensive training in teaching methodologies, lesson planning, teaching strategies for their home environment, teacher leadership, as well as the use of computers for internet, word processing and as tools for teaching.

The semester-long program, which will commence in January 2018 and conclude in May 2018, will also include an internship at a secondary school to engage participants actively with the American teachers and students.

The Fellowship provides:

  • A pre-departure orientation held in Indonesia
  • Round-trip airfare to and within the U.S.
  • A Welcome Orientation in Washington, DC
  • Academic program fees
  • Housing (generally shared with other program fellows)
  • Accident and sickness insurance
  • A daily allowance for meals and incidentals during the university academic program
  • A laptop computer
  • book/professional development allowance
  • A Closing Seminar in Washington, DC
  • Excess baggage/shipping allowance

Bayer Foundations, GermanyApplication for a Kurt Hansen scholarship is open to students studying to be educators in the field of science.

Key support areas include study projects, internships, summer courses, preparatory and supplementary study courses and theses. Assistance is also available for projects aimed at improving the training of science teachers.

Scholarships for Foreign Students, Teachers & Researchers, Slovak Republic

Establishment of the National Scholarship Programme for the Support of Mobility of Students, PhD Students, University Teachers and Researchers was approved by the Government of the Slovak Republic in 2005. The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic is funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic.

The National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic is intended to support mobility of foreign students, PhD students, university teachers and researchers to stay at Slovak universities and research organization.

Eligible applicants:
The following individuals can apply for a scholarship under the NSP:

A) university students whose second level of higher education is taking place at a foreign university and who are invited by a public, private or state university in the Slovak republic to an academic mobility for a purpose of study in the Slovak republic

  • scholarship period 1 to 2 semesters;

B) PhD students whose higher education or research preparation is taking place at a foreign university or institution and who are invited by a public, private or state university or external education organization in the Slovak republic to an academic mobility for a purpose of study in the Slovak republic

  • scholarship period 1 to 12 months
