Beasiswa Integrated Master – Doctor (IMD) – Kementerian Agama

Program Integrated Master-Doctor (IMD) merupakan salah satu program inovatif Direktorat Pendidikan Tinggi Keagamaan Islam Kementerian Agama yang dikelola oleh Project Management Unit (PMU) 5000 Doktor Luar Negeri. Skema beasiswa ini merupakan varian baru dari skema-skema beasiswa yang ada. Dalam skema IMD, jenjang studi master lanjut doktor akan ditempuh dalam waktu maksimal 4,5 tahun. Skema ini dipersiapkan khusus untuk para alumni kampus di bawah Kementrian Agama baik itu negeri maupun swasta. Para kandidat akan menempuh kuliah di kampus-kampus yang telah menjadi partner Kementerian Agama yaitu Dundee University, Edinburgh University, SOAS University of London, De Monfort University, dan Queen’s University Belfast UK. Melalui skema ini, diharapkan akan mendongkrak jumlah para dosen dan peneliti muda yang siap mengabdikan diri berkontribusi di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi keagamaan Islam setelah selesai menempuh pendidikan di luar negeri.

Meiji Jingu Japanese Studies Research Scholarships, SOAS, University of London, UK

SOAS University of London UKThere are two Meiji Jingu Japanese Studies Research Scholarships available. Each scholarship is valued at £7,000 in total.

Scholarships are for one year only, but it is possible to reapply if an award recipient has demonstrated outstanding potential for research. Please note that this scholarship cannot be held during the Extension of Writing-Up (Continuation) status.

Eligible Programme

  • Any full-time MPhil/PhD programme where the student will be working on some aspect of Japanese Studies.
  • Part-time programmes are not eligible.

Candidate Criteria

  • Open to UK/EU and Overseas applicants
  • Current PhD students at SOAS, or newly enrolling full-time MPhil students with an offer of admission are eligible. Newly enrolling MPhil students may be given preference.
  • It is important that your referees comment on your skill in Japanese in the areas of reading, composition and speaking.
  • Applicant must possess an MA degree from SOAS or an equivalent institution in a relevant subject.
  • Candidates must have an offer of admission by the scholarship deadline.
  • Applicants (new admissions, i.e. starting in September 2019) must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 1 June 2019. If your offer is conditional on English, please arrange your English test and ensure you meet the English requirements as soon as possible.

Candidate Assessment

  • MPhil candidates will be assessed on academic merit and the strength of their proposal.
  • PhD candidates will be assessed on academic merit, the results of their research during the previous year and proposal.
  • Some consideration will be given to financial need.

CSJR Postgraduate Student Bursary, SOAS, University of London, UK

SOAS University of London UKThe Centre for the Study of Japanese Religions offers a CSJR Postgraduate Student Bursary in Japanese Religions to be held at SOAS, University of London.

The total value of the scholarship is £5,000 for one year only for full-time programmes, providing a contribution towards fees. For part-time MA programmes, the £5,000 will be paid over the duration of the MA programme (i.e. £2,500 per year over two years for a two-year part-time MA or £1,250 per year over 4 years for a 4-year part-time). For a part-time Research Degree (MPhil/PhD) programme, £2,500 will be paid in year one and £2,500 in year two. If the successful candidate receives a grant to cover fees from another funding body, the bursary can be used towards maintenance.

Applications are invited from outstanding students of Japanese religions, regardless of nationality.

  • Applicants must possess an outstanding academic record
  • Taught Masters (MA) applicants must focus on Japanese Religions / Japanese Buddhism. Evidence of this should be included in the statement of their admission application.
  • Taught Masters (MA) and Research Degree (MPhil/PhD) applicants should give evidence in the statement of their admission application of their ability to use sources in Japanese.
  • Open to UK/EU and OVERSEAS candidates.
  • Applicants must have an offer of admission for one of the eligible programmes at SOAS by the scholarship application deadline.
  • Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible but no later than 30 June 2019.

JRC Fuwaku Scholarship, SOAS, University of London, UK

SOAS University of London UKTo celebrate the Japanese Research Centre’s (JRC) 40th anniversary, the JRC is pleased to announce the JRC Fuwaku Scholarship 2019. There are two JRC Fuwaku Scholarships available. Each Scholarship is valued at £10,000.

Eligible programmes

  • Any full-time MPhil/PhD Student (new admissions and current SOAS MPhil/PhD students) whose thesis topic focusses on any aspect of Japan
  • Any full-time Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree programme with a dissertation on a theme connected with Japan. In addition to taking a minimum of 1.0 units (or equivalent, e.g 2x 0.5 units) on Japan/Japanese studies.
  • Current Masters students enrolled in Year 1 (of a two-year full-time Masters Degree at SOAS) in 2018-19 and entering Year 2 in 2019-20 are also eligible to apply.
  • Part-time programmes are not eligible

Candidate Criteria

  • Open to UK/EU and Overseas applicants
  • For MPhil/PhD applicants, the research proposal must focus on Japan. Applicants (new admissions, i.e. starting in September 2019) should provide evidence of this in the research proposal of their admission application

Applicants (new admissions, i.e. starting in September 2019) should provide evidence of this in the statement of their admission application. SOAS University of London UKThe SOAS International Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship is designed to award new postgraduate students starting in September 2019 with a first-class academic performance.

Eligibility and award criteria

  • Have a UK first-class honours degree (1st) or the international equivalent, (You are also required to have met the intended programme entry criteria, this may include a specific subject, i.e. Economics, Law etc before starting programme in September 2019.
  • A 250-word supporting statement with your Masters programme application.
  • Be classified as overseas for fee purposes
  • Be self-financing
  • Have accepted an offer to study an eligible Masters campus taught programme at SOAS University of London, (please note Distance Learning or Online programmes are ineligible for this award).
  • If you have applied for another scholarship or award to study at SOAS, the higher amount will be awarded.

Sochon Foundation Scholarship, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, UK

SOAS University of London UKThe Sochon Foundation has generously provided SOAS with scholarships for students undertaking a full-time post-graduate programmes in Korean Studies. The total budget available is a maximum of £16,000 for 2019-20. The value of each bursary is up to £6,000 for students classified as Overseas for fee purposes and up to £3,000 for students classified as Home/EU for fee purposes.

Important information for MPhil/PhD candidates and two-year MA programme applicants.

The scholarship is for one year only. For candidates undertaking an MPhil/PhD programme or a two-year MA programme, the scholarship is not renewable.

The Sochon Foundation Scholarship may be held in conjunction with other scholarships. However, please be aware that all financial support secured before 1 April 2019 must be declared in your application. Any awards held will be taken into consideration on assessment of financial need.

Eligible Programmes
Below are the eligible FULL TIME programmes (new admissions, starting in September 2019):

  • MA Korean Studies and Intensive Language (Korean)

Sasakawa Postgraduate Studentship, SOAS, University of London, UK

SOAS University of London UKThe Japan Research Centre (JRC) is pleased to invite applications for the Sasakawa Postgraduate Studentship, made possible through the generosity of The Nippon Foundation and the Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.

SOAS can nominate up to three students for studentships of £10,000 (untaxed), which will be paid in three instalments: £3,300 at the start of Terms 1 & 2, and £3,400 at the start of Term 3.

Important information for MPhil/PhD candidates and for 2-year full-time Taught Masters candidates: This studentship is for one year only. Award holders will be welcomed to reapply in open competition for this studentship (subject to availability) in subsequent years. This scholarship can not be held with a fully-funded scholarship. Otherwise, this studentship is not a full scholarship and may be used to supplement partial funding from elsewhere.

SOAS University of London UKThe Alphawood Foundation has generously provided Paul Webley Alphawood Scholarships for post-graduate students undertaking either the full-time taught masters programmes MA Human Rights Law or LLM in Human Rights, Conflict and Justice.

In 2019-20 there will be 1 Paul Webley Alphawood Scholarship.

The Paul Webley Alphawood Scholarship will cover tuition fees.

MA in Human Rights Law candidates must demonstrate how they will specialise in the promotion and protection of the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender persons under the law.
