The Indonesia Global Leaders Scholarship is an exciting opportunity for high achieving students from Indonesia to further their studies in UQ’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law.   • $5,000 – $10,000 tuition fee scholarship. The final amount awarded to the successful applicants will be at the discretion of the selection committee.

Eligibility

  • Citizens of Indonesia who normally reside in Indonesia and are not already undertaking any studies in Australia. Those studying English in Australia are still eligible to apply.
  • Students who wish to commence their program at UQ in Semester 1, 2019
  • Students must not simultaneously hold another scholarship
  • Students who have received an unconditional offer for a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate program and who are commencing students at UQ (the opportunity is not open to currently enrolled UQ students, or students studying at UQ on study abroad or exchange).
  • Criteria is based on academic excellence, and high achieving students are encouraged to apply.
  • Undergraduate opportunities: students must have completed the International Baccalaureate for direct entry, or for those who are undertaking degree level studies from a recognised, degree granting institution in Indonesia, at least one year must be completed. Students from our partner institutions are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Postgraduate opportunities: high achieving students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution are also encouraged to apply.

UQ Graduate School Scholarships (UQGSS), University of Queensland, Australia

University of Queensland AustraliaThe UQ Graduate School Scholarship (UQGSS) rounds award scholarships to domestic and international students.

Students will be awarded either an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship or a UQ funded scholarship via a competitive scholarship round twice per year.

These provide a living allowance and a tuition fee offset. For international applicants who will study in Australia on a student visa, the scholarship also includes an allowance for single overseas student health cover.

Eligibility
To be eligible you must:

  • Be studying full-time and onshore in Australia.
  • Be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ.
  • Be assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for admission to the research higher degree program.
  • Not hold a qualification at the same or a higher level than the research higher degree program you are undertaking.
  • Not be receiving a living allowance award, scholarship or salary providing a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship living allowance rate to undertake the research higher degree program.
  • Not be receiving a Commonwealth funded tuition fee scholarship.

Science International Scholarships, University of Queensland, Australia

University of Queensland AustraliaScholarships are available for outstanding international students in undergraduate or postgraduate coursework programs in science at UQ.

Two different scholarships are available:

  1. The Full Degree Scholarship is awarded to students enrolling in year one of a UQ Faculty of Science full degree program and is a single payment of AU$10,000
  2. The Advanced Standing Scholarship is awarded to students enrolling in a UQ Faculty of Science program with advanced standing (credit articulation), for example on the basis of previous study at a Polytechnic, and is a single payment of AU$3,000.

Selection criteria
Following the closing date, UQ will select winners based on a competitive, merit-based process, based on:

  • Candidates’ academic performance as demonstrated by their Grade Point Averages (GPA)
  • Candidates’ potential to contribute to science, assessed on the basis of their personal statements

MBA Scholarships, University of Queensland, Australia

University of Queensland AustraliaUQ Business School is offering up to fourteen (14) 25% tuition-fee waiver scholarships to outstanding students commencing the MBA program (and MBA articulation pathway) each year. Scholarship applications are only open to new students each semester.

The scholarship will entitle the successful applicant to receive a 25% discount on their course tuition fees for a maximum period of 24 months. If the scholarship recipient exceeds the 24 month timeframe they become solely responsible for the full tuition cost of any and all remaining courses after the date specified in the scholarship offer.

For scholarship holders who do not continue to meet all of the requirements of the program, the scholarship will be withdrawn and the student will not be eligible to re-apply for any MBA scholarship.

From this pool of 14 scholarships, UQ Business School will specifically award up to:

  • Two (2) of the 25% tuition-fee waiver scholarships on offer to outstanding indigenous MBA students
  • Two (2) of the 25% tuition-fee waiver scholarships on offer to outstanding international MBA students studying full-time
  • Four (4) of the 25% tuition-fee waiver scholarships on offer to outstanding MBA students who are women
  • Six (6) of the 25% tuition-fee waiver scholarships on offer to outstanding MBA students studying either full-time or part-time

How to apply?

  1. Meet the entry requirement to receive an unconditional offer for the MBA program (or GCBA/GDipBA articulation pathway to the MBA); and
  2. Provide a personal statement in video format*, of no more than five minutes in length, answering the following three questions tell the Scholarship Panel,
    1. About your motivations for choosing to study an MBA degree and your career aspirations
    2. About a time you overcame a professional or personal obstacle
    3. What have you done to make your work environment or your community a better place
  3. Provide your CV and two written work related references. These documents can be the same ones you use for your program application.

Master of Architecture International Scholarships, University of Queensland, Australia

University of Queensland Australia The School of Architecture invites outstanding international students to apply for scholarships valued at AUD $14,800 per year.

Eligibility
The scholarships are available for international students who have completed undergraduate studies and been accepted into the Master of Architecture at UQ. TC Beirne School of Law Scholarship, University of Queensland, Australia

This scholarship provides assistance to overseas students* enrolled or enrolling full-time in the Master of Laws (LLM) or Master of International Law (MICLaw) programs. The scholarship will take the form of monetary assistance to help with living expenses for 12 months and will be paid in two installments – one during semester 1 and one during Semester 2. Applicants should note that they will be responsible for the payment of all tuition fees associated with their program.

Applicants will be assessed on the following criteria:

  1. Academic merit
  2. Significant financial need
  3. Express interest in the study of law, with a view to using that study in some future occupation
  4. Proposed budget

Master of Philosophy (MPhil) Scholarships in Neuroscience, University of Queensland, Australia

Established in 2003, the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) is housed on the St Lucia campus of UQ. It is home to more than 400 staff, including 33 group leaders, working across a range of disciplines, focussed on discovering the fundamental mechanisms that regulate brain development and function in health and disease. QBI has state-of-the-art core facilities for super resolution microscopy, flow cytometry, molecular genetics, histochemistry and cognitive testing.

Over the past decade QBI has positioned itself as one of the world’s leading neuroscience research institutes. It played a key role in contributing to UQ attaining the highest possible score of 5 for neuroscience, in both the 2010 and 2012 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) reviews, one of only two universities in Australia to achieve this.

The role
The University of Queensland is offering a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in neuroscience through the Queensland Brain Institute. The aim of the program is to offer talented students from diverse backgrounds an alternative route into a research career in the neurosciences through provision of a solid base in a broad range of neuroscience disciplines. Students will work on independent research projects under the supervision of world-leading QBI Neuroscientists, as well as undertake neuroscience-related workshops and journal clubs.

The IWC Masters Scholarships are a prestigious award granted annually to high calibre candidates who clearly demonstrate potential as future water leaders. Scholarships are available to study the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management (MIWM) at The University of Queensland in Australia.

To apply for a scholarship, you must:

  • Have completed an undergraduate degree in a related field of study from an internationally-recognised institution;
  • Have at least two years of professional experience (paid work or volunteering experience) relevant to the program;

Although professional experience is not essential for admission in the MIWM program, candidates with relevant professional experience have a higher chance of securing a scholarship – see Selection Criteria below.

  • International candidates must also demonstrate English Language Proficiency (see UQ’s Policy including minimum scores for IELTS, TOEFL or PTE). A proof of English language proficiency needs to be uploaded with the online application form.
