South East Asia Undergraduate High Achiever Scholarship is established to attract high achieving commencing international students from South East Asia to enrol in an undergraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney.

Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Must be a citizen of a country in the South East Asia region (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar [Burma], Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam); and
  • Must be an international student (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
  • Must have completed in South East Asia (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar [Burma], Philippines, Singapore, Thailand or Vietnam) one of the following:
  1. an Australian Year 12 qualification, or
  2. a UTS recognised high school qualification comparable to an Australian Year 12, or
  3. a UTS recognised Australian Foundation Studies program,

and be admitted to UTS based on this qualification.

  • Must meet all admission requirements for the selected UTS undergraduate coursework program; and
  • Must be commencing full-time time study at UTS on campus; and
  • Must not have completed studies in Australia; and
  • Must not be in receipt of any other UTS scholarship/s; and
  • Must not be enrolling in a UTS Transnational Program.

International Postgraduate Coursework Full Tuition Scholarship, University of Technology Sydney, Australia

The International Postgraduate Full Tuition Scholarship was established to support high-achieving commencing international students enrolling in an postgraduate coursework program at UTS in Sydney.

Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • be an international student at the time of application (not an Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia); and
  • meet all admission requirements for the selected course; and
  • commence full-time studies on campus; and
  • have completed a Bachelor degree, comparable to an Australian Bachelor degree, no longer than three (3) years prior to commencing at UTS and be admitted based on this qualification to UTS; and
  • have an overall average of 90% where the pass mark is 50% or equivalent in a UTS recognised Bachelor qualification; and
  • all applicants must apply using the UTS online Scholarships Application form to be eligible.

NOTE: Students enrolling in a UTS transnational program are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Selection process
The scholarship will be awarded to the highest ranked applicants(s) on the basis of academic merit in the academic qualification used as a basis for admission into the selected UTS Master degree program, coupled with the applicant’s response to the following question: “How do you intend to use your UTS degree to make a positive contribution to the community?”

Implications of Environmental Variability on Marine Microbes ARC Scholarship, University of Technology Sydney, Australia

This project is funded by the Australian Research Council and will be hosted within the Productive Coasts Group (COAST), within the Climate Change Cluster (C3) at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). COAST is one of 7 key research programs within C3, focused on the functional ecology of algae. C3 is one of the UTS “research strength” institutes and currently hosts 90 researchers and a comprehensive suite of field and laboratory-based analytical equipment and research infrastructure that will be available to the project.

Who is eligible?

  • Domestic students; or international students who are able to pay tuition fees (or have their own tuition fee scholarship).
  • Those that have completed a Bachelor of Science degree with first class honours or Master of Science by research, or an equivalent level of training.

Selection process

  • Experience in algal physiology and biological oceanography, and strong knowledge of microbiology and molecular biology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed scientific journals
  • High levels of motivation and enthusiasm

Media Transition Doctoral Scholarships, University of Technology Sydney, Australia

University of Technology Sydney is offering scholarships to research the effects and implications of disruption and transition in the media sector. Students will work with the Centre for Media Transition, an interdisciplinary unit established to explore and develop responses to the dramatic and ongoing movements wrought by digital disruption to the media industry.

To encourage interdisciplinary research, the scholarships are being offered as a joint initiative of the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, and the Connected Intelligence Centre. Candidates will be enrolled through one of the faculties but will work on an interdisciplinary project. Candidates’ research topics need not directly cross all these disciplines, but preference will be given to proposals that include elements from at least two disciplines.

The successful candidate will be awarded $27,000 per annum over 4 years. All scholarships at UTS are dependent upon ongoing satisfactory academic progress.

How to apply
Applications for the Media Transition Doctoral Scholarship must be submitted by 31 October 2017 for commencement in Autumn session (January 2018). Applicants for the scholarship must also apply and be admitted to the PhD degree at UTS. International students must apply for admission to a PhD degree by 30 September 2017, while new domestic students must apply by 31 October 2017.
