Western Conference Hip-Hop Music Business Scholarship, Musicians Institute, USA

The Western Conference Hip-Hop Music Business Scholarship was created to recognize and support the creative ideas and professional aspirations of a newly enrolling student who is interested in the Hip Hop genre of the music industry. The scholarship is generously funded by Chocolate Crushes, Inc. and is provided to encourage and support the educational growth of a newly enrolling Music Buisness Certificate Program student.

The scholarship is awarded to a newly enrolling student (US or non-US citizens) in the Music Business Certificate Program who clearly expresses their own interests and professional goals within the music industry and the Hip-Hop genre.

The scholarship is applicable for students newly enrolling in the Music Business Certificate Program only, and may not be transferred to “performance program” emphases within an AA degree, and is applicable to the fall 2014 quarter only.

Award
$1,000.00 tuition credit ($1,000.00 for the first quarter of the program as long as the recipient maintains satisfactory progress).

Eligibility

  • Newly enrolling Music Business Certificate students only.
  • US citizen and non-US citizen.
  • Awardee must maintain enrollment at 12 units (fulltime status) during the full length of award period. Failure to maintain enrollment and satisfactory academic progress in Music Business Certificate Program for the full duration of the scholarship may result in withdrawal of the award.

Requirements

  • Complete a Western Conference Music Business Hip- Hop Scholarship application.
  • Submit a video recording (DVD format only) of you clearly explaining why you should be considered for the Scholarship. Include your name, your career goals, business ideas, prior experience, financial situation, and any other factors you consider relevant. Maximum length is 3 minutes, spoken voice only- no performance footage is accepted.

Scholarship Amounts and Method of Award

  • Scholarships are awarded in the form of tuition credit only.
  • The total award amount will be determined after a review of your application.
  • The total award amount is divided by the number of quarters in your program and credited equally toward each quarter’s tuition (except MI Hardship Scholarship; which is a one-time award).

Application and Notification

  • MI Scholarships are available only to students enrolling in a new program. Before you may submit a scholarship application, you must have a Letter of Acceptance from MI’s Admission Department.
  • Scholarship applications are available from the Financial Aid Office or Admissions Department or by download.
  • Completed applications submitted by the appropriate deadline will be reviewed and applicants will be notified of the results within two weeks after the deadline.

Other Information

  • All scholarships are non-transferable and may not be applied to any person, program, or start date other than those for which they were originally awarded.
  • Scholarship recipients who fail to meet minimum academic requirements during their enrollment will forfeit any remaining award balance (see scholarship applications for specific requirements).
